Privacy policy

Effective September 11, 2026. Chattium is designed to keep its desktop profile local while being clear about the limited data involved in purchases and website delivery.

Desktop application data

Chattium stores app settings, service definitions, isolated browser sessions, notification history, local logs, and—when you configure mail—mail cache data on your computer. Web-service authentication happens directly with the service provider. Chattium does not operate a cloud account or synchronization database for your desktop profile.

Email credentials are stored using operating-system protected storage when supported. An exported profile is encrypted with the passphrase you choose. You are responsible for protecting exported profile files and license keys.

Service providers

When you use a service inside Chattium, your requests go to that provider and are governed by its privacy policy. Chattium does not proxy the content of those provider sessions through a Chattium server.

Licensing and payments

License signatures are verified offline by the app. The license payload contains the purchaser email address, license tier, issue date, and included-updates end date. The key is stored locally.

Purchases are processed by Stripe. Stripe receives payment and billing information under its own privacy policy; Chattium does not receive full card numbers. Resend is used to deliver license emails and receives the purchaser email address and email content for that purpose.

Website data

The hosting provider may process ordinary request data such as IP address, browser information, requested URL, and timestamps for security and reliable delivery. This site does not include third-party advertising pixels or behavioral analytics by default.

Retention and deletion

Local application data remains until you remove services, clear service data, reset the profile, or uninstall and delete Chattium's application data. Stripe and Resend retain purchase and delivery records according to their legal obligations and published policies.
