License terms

Effective September 11, 2026. These terms are a practical license for an independent desktop product. They are not a transfer of ownership in the Chattium software.

Plain-language summary: one personal license lets you use Chattium on computers you own or control. It includes releases published during the paid update period. Your licensed version keeps working after that period.

1. Personal license

After payment and subject to these terms, Chattium grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the application on computers that you personally own or control. A business or team deployment requires written permission or a business license when offered.

2. Updates and perpetual use

Your purchase includes Chattium releases published through the updates_until date embedded in the signed license key, normally one year from the paid subscription period. When that date passes, versions covered by your license remain usable. Renewing extends eligibility for later releases; it is not required merely to continue using an already covered version.

3. License keys

Your key is a bearer credential tied to the purchaser email and license tier. Do not publish, sell, share, or sublicense it. Chattium may replace a key that was exposed accidentally and may revoke keys obtained through fraud, chargeback abuse, or unlawful distribution.

4. Restrictions

You may not sell, rent, sublicense, or distribute Chattium; remove ownership notices; use a license key beyond its scope; or use the app to violate law, provider terms, or another person's rights. Applicable law may provide reverse-engineering rights that these terms cannot restrict.

5. Third-party services

Chattium displays and connects to independent services such as messaging, mail, and AI providers. Those companies are not affiliated with Chattium unless explicitly stated. Their availability, content, accounts, subscriptions, security requirements, and terms remain their responsibility. Provider interface changes may temporarily affect an integration.

6. Payments and renewals

Payments and subscription management are processed by Stripe. Renewal timing, cancellation controls, taxes, and the amount charged are shown during checkout. Canceling stops future renewal; it does not disable versions already covered by a paid license.

7. Warranty and liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, Chattium is provided “as is” without warranties of uninterrupted availability or compatibility with every third-party service. Chattium is not responsible for service-provider outages, account actions, or third-party content. Liability is limited to the amount you paid for Chattium during the twelve months before the claim, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

8. Changes and contact
